skills: operations management, training development, instruction, event coordination, equipment maintenance, graphic, 3D, and spatial design
I relocated, redeveloped, and reopened the Design Lab: a non-profit community makerspace – increasing membership by more than 400% in my first year. This included developing floor plans and making necessary purchase requests for new tools/equipment. I rewrote the membership contract, standardized the member onboarding and certification process, and maintained, reactivated, and/or repaired all lab equipment, including tools that were previously unutilized or inoperable. I also produced equipment training materials and led numerous training sessions throughout the year, providing learning opportunities and ensuring member safety.
I made significant contributions to the development of an "engagement opportunity ecosystem" that provides an array of creative and technical development programs. Beyond equipment trainings, I also assisted in the development and execution of workshops, career exploration field trips, and other programs within that ecosystem. Led by staff or members of our Maker in Residence fellowship program, these efforts have led to more engagement with the Design Lab and our workshops — furthering our mission of offering lifelong learning opportunities and cultivating a community of makers.
I also made significant contributions to marketing efforts by designing web and print graphics for the Design Lab, as well as producing other visual assets for Madjax such as photos, videos, and social media content.
